Brian
Mountney (Managing Director)
Brian served a five year apprenticeship in London and obtained
City & Guilds accreditation as a joiner. Having successfully
run his own business in the UK, he came to South Africa in
1970 where he joined forces with Roy Jack. In 1982 was influencial
in the formation of United Interiors. |

Patrick Searle
(General Manager & Contract Controller)
Patrick completed his apprenticeship in 1972 and after working
for two Cape Town shopfitting companies, joined Brian and
Roy in 1982. He became a director in 1992 and shareholder
in 2002. |

Cyril Tracey
(Contract Controller)
Born in the UK, Cyril completed his apprenticeship as a joiner/shopfitter
and obtained City & Guilds accreditation. Cyril immigrated
to South Africa in 1964, after working for other leading shopfitters
in the Cape, joined United Interiors in 1988. He became a
director in 1992. |

Brian 'Rob'
Mountney (Sales and Contract Controller)
In his youth, Rob trained in the UK from 1983 with various
international shopfitting companies. In 1993 he returned to
South Africa, joining his father at United Interiors. Rob
became a director and shareholder in 2002. |

Nicky
Hattingh, CA (SA)
Nicky joined the company in May 2002 as head of the Finance
& Admin department and has a team of 5 assisting her.
Nicky became a shareholder in 2006. |

Kathy Josias (HR Manager)
Kathy joined United Interiors as a qualified Secretary/ Receptionist
in 1984 and was appointed HR Manager in 2006 |

Faried Coert
(Trainee Contract Controller)
Faried joined United Interiors in 1984 and qualified
as an Artisan in 1986. He was promoted to Trainee Contract
Controller in 2000. |

Jaareem James (Trainee Contract
Controller)
Jaareem qualified as an artisan in 1984 and joined United Interiors
the same year. He soon established himself as a team leader
and was promoted to Trainee Contract Controller in 2005. |

Bertin O’Reilly
(Workshop Foreman)
After completing matric and obtaining NTC3 in Carpentry, Cabinet
Making and Joinery in 1976, Bertin began his career in the
Shopfitting Industry in the Northern Cape and Johannesburg.
He moved to Cape Town in 1993 gaining knowledge with our competitors
before joining us here at United Interiors in 2005.

Simon Mabotha
- Machine Shop Foreman
Simon joined United Interiors in January 2000 having 44 years
experience in the trade with 2 other leading joinery companies. |

Shabaan 'Bunny'
Isaacs - Logistics Controller
Bunny has been with this company since our inception in 1982,
having previously been with United Partitions for a number
of years. |
Staff/Labour Force
Installation Leaders
The company employs seven installation team leaders, all of whom
are equipped with a vehicle and all power tools. Two of the team
leaders are trainee contract controllers and are in the process
of training under the contract controllers.
Site Control
Every site has a fully qualified artisan with a minimum of 8 years
experience within our company. The responsible Contracts Manager
will visit all sites within easy driving distance of the factory
every two days. For sites outside of this radius the Contracts Manager
will visit weekly or fortnightly, as the job requires.
Labour Force
Our Company employs a labour force of between 80 and 125 people.
These are split between office personnel, artisans, learners, labourers
and contract workers.
General
We are aware that a contented work force will be committed to obtaining
the finest end result for our customers. Therefore we believe in
empowering our line management to take responsibility for the jobs
under their control. We aim also to uphold the "train, then
promote from within" ethic. This enables United Interiors
to offer to clients a stable and motivated workforce team.
We operate with a Human Resources
department following the guidelines set by the Employment Equity
Act and our Skills Development Plan is strictly monitored and maintained
so that our team can enjoy the ongoing benefits from training.
The company has an extremely
low staff turnover, with many of the employees having worked for
the company from between 8 and 20 years.
